1
Advertise your fundraiser through a variety of mediums, such as newspaper, radio and television ads. For example, if you're organizing a food drive, give the date and other relevant information for the event, then highlight the fact that you have pro sports tickets as prizes.
-
2
Outline how you are using the pro sports tickets in your advertising material. In the example of a food drive fundraiser, you could give tickets to 10 people who contribute the most food and raffle off other tickets to award other contributors. It is important that people understand how they can win the tickets and how likely they are to win. Explain that while being a top 10 fundraiser guarantees a ticket, every person who contributes gets his name in a raffle for extra tickets.
-
3
Ask your volunteers to track the contributions of those who are helping your fundraiser. If you've promised to give tickets to the 10 people who contributed the most, ensure your volunteers log the name and amount given of each contributor.
-
4
Explain the date for the event that's shown on the ticket; whether there is assigned seating at the event and where the seats are situated in the stadium; the value of the ticket and how many you are giving away. Being as transparent as possible shows people that your organization is honest.
-
5
Decide who will win the tickets by following your own set rules and using a random draw. For the food bank example, tabulate the 10 people who contributed the most food, then award tickets to each person. Pick a set number of winners from all the other contributors to award the other tickets.
-
6
Award the tickets to the designated winners. Take photos, if possible, of your organization presenting the tickets then submit the photos to your community newspaper. If the photos are published, it will help get exposure for your cause which could possibly result in more interest for the next fundraiser you organize.
