1
Design the island. The size of the island should correspond to the number of players in the game. A good rule of thumb is having enough space for the size of the lane for each player in the game. For example, if you have 12 players in the game, using half the court would be appropriate.

2
Instruct the players that they must keep their dribble alive at all times. Also, they cannot commit any violations such as double dribble, carrying and traveling.
-
3
While dribbling, each player is attempting to knock the other players' ball off the island. The players use their free hand to reach for the other players' ball to knock it away. Once a ball is loose, it is legal to kick the ball off the island before the player can recover it and dribble again. If a player's ball goes off the island, that player is eliminated from the game. The last player left on the island is the winner.
-
4
The players must keep moving at all times. If a player is found standing still, he or she gets kicked off the island.
-
5
As players are eliminated from the game, the coach shrinks the size of the island to increase the intensity. For instance, if the game started with 12 players in a half court, it may move to within the 3 point arch when it is 8 players, and to the lane when it is 2 players.
