Quarterback Camps in Atlanta for Kids

Youth quarterbacks are able to hone their skills and get one step ahead of their competition at specialized off-season training camps. Taking place in the close-season across Atlanta, the camps aim to help budding quarterbacks develop their technique while also helping with the development of leadership skills and athletic conditioning.
  1. Quarterback Academy

    • Children from the age of 8 can hone their skills at quarterback camps.

Set up by Darin Slack back in 1988, the Quarterback Academy works to train players between the ages of 8 and 18. Its philosophy is to make "average quarterbacks great and great quarterbacks elite." To achieve this, the three-day camps focus on getting players of any age ready for big games, with an emphasis on participants learning self-correcting skills and being mentally as well as physically prepared.

Additionally, campers are able to learn about different plays with the aid of advanced computer systems, while classes are also given on developing on-field and off-field leadership skills.

For 2011, the three-day Off Season Development (OSD) camp takes place in Atlanta between April 29th and May 1st, though as of December 2010, an exact location has yet to be confirmed. A place on the camp costs $595, though a $100 discount is available for early sign-ups.

    Offense-Defense Sports Camps

    • Camps teach budding quarterbacks a range of specialist skills.

Offense-Defense runs residential football camps across the country, with budding quarterbacks given specialized help to develop their overall game. The four-day camps work towards developing players as all-round athletes, teaching them the importance of exercise, stretching and a good diet as well as excellent ball skills. Campers receive three practice sessions per day, 24-hour supervision, room and full board, and access to on-site counselors.

The 2011 camp in Atlanta is set to take place at Oglethorpe University between June 6th and 8th. Former Atlanta Falcons pros that signed up to offer coaching include Agle Crumpler and Terance Mathis. A place on the full camp costs $760, though discounts are on offer for returning campers bringing a friend with them.

    Atlanta Quarterback & Receiver Camp

    • In just a few short days, campers can improve their quarterback skills.

The Atlanta Quarterback & Receiver Camp is designed to instruct players in Grades six to 12 in the fundamentals of the game, particularly passing techniques, drops and route running. And emphasis is placed on developing personal skills and through repetition, with the organizers pledging that each athlete will receive more than 300 repetitions under the watchful eye of some of Atlanta's top high school football coaches.

The 2011 camp is due to take place between June 14th and 16th at Walton High School, Marietta and will cost $100, or $90 if participants register in advance.
