With the proper training, beginning runners can increase their speed, agility and distance. Training, however, takes commitment and a willingness to stick to a firm training schedule. Increase your stamina. The only way to do this is to run. Begin by running two to three miles each day consistently. If you are unable to do this each day, then do this every other day. If you are a true beginner and are unable to run for long periods of time, begin slowly by jogging one mile or even a few yards. The key is to repeat the activity until your body is able to run longer distances each time without feeling tired.

Time yourself. The key to running a successful 300 meter is to be able to do it quickly. As part of your training, time yourself. For beginning runners with no training, it generally takes about one minute to complete a 300 meter sprint. Set a clock to time yourself each time you run. As you continue to train, you should notice that your time gradually decreases as you are able to run faster.

Begin interval training. Increase your running capacity by running in time sets with short breaks in between. Once your stamina has increased you will be able to do more sets. For beginners, start by doing three to five sets of 110 yards with two minutes of rest in between. Gradually increase to 10 sets with two minutes of rest in between.
