How to Learn the Rules of Bungee Jumping

1
Find a really tall bridge from which to jump. You want one tall enough so that you can experience a good length of free fall. It is preferable that you have water or some other soft material underneath the bridge just in case something goes wrong.
-
2
Cut the bungee cord so that it is significantly shorter than the length of the drop, so that it has room to stretch. Most fatalities in the sport of bungee jumping are caused by a cord that is too short; this is rule should therefore be disobeyed only at your peril.
-
3
Position yourself on the edge of the bridge or the area you are going to jump from. The most important rule to remember at this time is tie up both ends of the bungee with a very strong knot, or your free fall experience might have a very unhappy ending.
-
4
Take a big jump; you will then begin to plummet rapidly downward. When you reach the end of the bungee you will begin to slow down as it stretches. Several bounces later you can be lowered to the ground to try it again.
