Bungee Jumping Rules

Jump From A Safe Place
-
It is imperative that the surface you are jumping from is tall enough to allow for a long fall. Most people jump from bridges that have water underneath them or from cranes operated by companies for the purpose of bungee jumping. Crane jump landing pads are often lined with thick mats. Whether it be water or mats, it is a smart move to have something pliable to break your fall in case of emergency. It is best to make sure that your gear and jump site are rigged by safety professionals.
Cord Length
-
You do not want a cord that is too long when bungee jumping. You want a cord that is cut much shorter than the length of your fall so that it has enough room to stretch at the end of your fall. Professional bungee jumping guides will compare the weight of a jumper with the distance of the fall to make sure that the rope used is of the correct length. A rope that is too long will send you into the surface and can be very dangerous.
Positioning
-
It is crucial that you jump outward from the very edge of the surface you are using. You do not want to take the risk of positioning yourself incorrectly and hitting a part of the jump surface on the way down.
The Jump And Landing
-
Jump with force and allow yourself to relax completely. You will descend rapidly and will bounce up and down several times at the end of the jump before being untethered by someone at the bottom of the jump. Do not tense up your body. Relaxation will allow your body to move freely.
