Measure your height in inches using a tape measure.

    • 2

Multiply your height in inches by 2.54. Multiply that number by 0.88. This gives you your approximate board length in centimeters.

    • 3

Use your boot size to determine the approximate board width. If you wear a size 8 or smaller, your board should be narrow--24 centimeters wide or less. If you wear a size 8.5 to 10.5, your board should be regular--24 to 26 centimeters wide. If you wear larger than a 10.5, your board should be wide--at least 26 centimeters wide.

Consider your weight when choosing the right-sized snowboard. In general, a heavier person needs a longer board and a lighter person needs a shorter board. Try different boards to determine what size feels most comfortable. Consult a salesperson or an experienced snowboarder if you still are having trouble choosing the right board, because picking the wrong size may result in serious injury.
