Instructions

    • 1

Cut the 4-foot long 2-by-4 into four equal one-foot sections.

    • 2

Take two of the sections and make them into a T shape, with the four-inch side flat on the ground perpendicular to the other plank. Screw the T into place so that on each side of the vertical plank there is five inches of horizontal plank. Repeat the process with the remaining two sections of foot-lone 2-by-4. These will be the legs of the rail.

    • 3

Take the 6-foot long 2-by-4 plank and attach the two "T" legs to the two ends. The "T" should be upside down, with the plank that touches the floor perpendicular to the 6-foot plank. The 4-inch side of the 6-foot plank should be facing up. Screw the 6-foot plank in place.

    • 4

Attach the iron to the top of the 6-foot plank, using the liquid nails. Allow the liquid nails to dry and the rail should be finished. The rail is essentially a long, flat iron rail attached to a long 2-by-4 wood plank, held up by the two T-shaped wooden legs.
