How to Make Homemade Indo Board
There's no better training for rough wave riding than an Indo board. Indo boards provide an excellent simulation of good old-fashioned surfing in the comfort of your home. This training aid usually runs upward of $100 on the market. You can make your own Indo board at home for much less.
Things You'll Need
- 1 33-by-14 inch plywood
- 2 2-by-14 inch plywood
- Nails
- Hammer
- 4-inch wide, 14-inch long PVC pipe
- Athletic tape
Instructions
-
-
1
Lay your 33-by-14 inch plywood flat and lay a piece of the 2-by-14 inch plywood on either side of the board.
-
2
Lay the boards so that the 14-inch length of the 2-by-14 inch piece matches up with the 14-inch of the 33-by-14 inch piece. These smaller pieces of wood serve as stoppers.
-
3
Place two nails on either side of each piece of the stoppers and hammer them in place. Make certain that your nails are not too long.
-
4
Wrap a piece of athletic tape on both ends of the pipe and one piece in the middle. This will create friction.
-
5
Step on the indo board to test friction. Adjust the tape or pipe accordingly.
