Fasten the 17 mm wrench around the lock nut of the wheel hub. Push the handles of the tools towards one another to completely loosen the lock nut. Remove the lock nut and cone.

3
Hold the wheel vertically while sliding out the axle. Insert your thumb and forefinger into the wheel hub to pull out the old or rusted bearings. Rub the inside of the hub with a dry rag to remove any built up residue.

4
Insert the new bearings into the wheel hub with your thumb and forefinger. Cover the bearings with a layer of waterproof grease. Place the axle through the center of the hub.

5
Tighten the cone and lock nut to secure the axle in place. Align the back wheel onto the rear dropouts of your BMX bike. Tighten the axle nuts with the 17 mm wrench. Store your BMX in a dry location to prevent bearing rust.
