Instructions

    • 1

Decide where you want to place your number plate and determine how much space is available, as well as required, for it. Measure this area with a tape measure.

    • 2

Take your piece of cardboard and cut it into a rectangular shape using your scissors. Size it according to the space available for the plate that you measured in Step 1. Set this piece of cardboard in the position of the number plate on your bike.

    • 3

Choose the shape that you want your number plate to have. Use the marker to draw this shape on your rectangular piece of cardboard. Take the scissors and cut the shape out from the cardboard. Carefully tidy up the edges of the shape by cutting exactly along the lines of the shape and not leaving extra cardboard pieces sticking out.

    • 4

Use a hole puncher to make two openings in the top corners of your cardboard plate. Insert the ties that you use to seal garbage bags into the holes and attach this cardboard plate into the spot where you want to place your plate. Remove the cardboard plate, which was just being used as a dummy plate to ensure that the plastic plate fit in the chosen area.

    • 5

Set your cardboard plate onto a sheet of plastic and use a marker to redraw the same shape of the cardboard onto the plastic sheet. Use scissors to cut out the plastic shape as you did for the cardboard. If the plastic is thick, you may need to use a knife to cut the shape from the plastic sheet.

    • 6

Make holes, using a drill, in the top corners of the plastic sheet in the same manner as you did for the cardboard piece.

    • 7

Insert zip ties in both holes of the plastic plate and attach the plate to the location you chose for it. Secure it safely in place.

    • 8

Make the desired numbers you want on your plate with black tape. Add letters, your name or other decorative flourishes of your choice to make your plate unique.
