1
Roll your Diamondback BMX or mountain bike into a covered tool shed or garage to begin your repairs. Lower the kickstand of your Diamondback mountain bike to position the bike on its two tires. Place the Diamondback BMX against a wall or work desk as it does not feature a kickstand.
-
2
Examine the components of your Diamondback bike, including the grips, pedals and tires to determine which areas require repairs. Locate the colored grip located on either end of your handlebars. Extend the blade of your utility knife. Slide down the middle of each rubber grip until you make contact with the metallic handlebars.
-
3
Peel your old or worn down Diamondback grips away from the handlebars of your bike. Insert a new Diamondback replacement grip onto each end of the handlebars. Utilize the head of a hammer to slide the grips down the metallic bars. Squeeze the outer tips of the Diamondback grips to ensure the grips fit snugly against the handlebars.

4
Identify the pedals of your Diamondback bike located in between the two tires. Squat down beside your bike to have an adequate view of your bike pedals. Locate the screw running down the middle of each pedal. Examine the head of the screw to determine if it requires a screwdriver or Allen Wrench.
-
5
Insert the head of a screwdriver or Allen wrench into the corresponding screw of the bike pedal. Rotate the tool's handle in a counterclockwise direction to loosen the screw. Repeat the loosening process with the remaining pedal. Remove your old or damaged Diamondback pedals. Insert your new pedals in place. Tighten the correlating screws to fasten your new pedals in place.
