1
Lay the components of your Diamondback Response mountain bike onto a carpeted surface. Identify the tubular frame of your bicycle. Apply a small amount of waterproof grease around the seat tube of your Response bike frame. Insert the post of the bike seat into the seat tube. Lower the seat post clamp to ensure it remains secured in the seat tube.
-
2
Place the seat post of your Diamondback into the clamp of a bicycle repair stand. Lower the clamp lever to hold your mountain bike in place. Identify the handlebar stem located at the front of the bicycle frame. Remove the bolts from the handlebar stem using the head of a screwdriver.

3
Center the handlebars onto the stem. Tighten the bolts on the stem to secure the position of your Diamondback's handlebars. Identify the cap located on the top of the handlebar stem. Tighten the stem cap using an Allen wrench. Place the front wheel onto the frame of your mountain bike. Rotate the lever found on the left side of the wheel in a clockwise motion.

4
Lower the lever to fasten your front wheel onto the frame of your Diamondback. Repeat the installation process with the rear wheel and lower the corresponding lever to secure its position. Remove the small caps found on each of the tire valves. Inflate the tires to the recommended air pressure found on the sides of the tires.
-
5
Place the air-valve caps back onto each of your mountain biking tires. Raise the lever of your bicycle repair stand to release the Diamondback seat tube. Lower your newly assembled mountain bike onto the ground. Adjust the bike seat to a proper height. Ride your mountain bike on a level terrain to ensure the assembly has been successful.
