Raleigh Bike Specs

Raleigh Industries, a bike company founded in 1886, about 100 bikes available for purchase in 2010. Among these, Raleigh made bikes specifically designed for the road, for cruising, for mountain biking and for youth.

  1. Road

    • Raleigh's featured road bike is the Record Ace. In 2010, it comes on a Lugged Reynolds 520 Butted Chromo frame, with a Shimano Ultegra 10 speed STI shifter, Tektro dual pivot with cartridge pad brakes, and Shimano Ultegra gears. It also includes double wall rims, steel clip pedals with leather straps, and gel tape grips. It measures 20.87 inches in seat tube length, with a wheelbase of 38.31 inches and a handlebar width of 15.75 inches. Extras include a reflector set and water bottle mounts.

    Cruiser

    • The Retroglide has an Atomic 13 aluminum frame, no shifter, 20t cog gears, cruiser platform pedals and cruiser grips. The Retroglide is available for both men and women, and the size varies for each. The men's Retroglide has a seat tube length of 18.70 inches and a wheelbase of 44.96 inches, while the women's Retroglide has a seat tube of 15.94 inches and a wheelbase of 43.98 inches. Both have a handlebar width of 27.56 inches. Extras for the 2010 Retroglide include rack mounts, fender mounts, reflector set and clear coat.

    Mountain

    • Raleigh calls the Talus 5.0 model "Raleigh in its purest form." The 2010 Talus has an Atomic 13L custom butted-aluminum frame. It also features a forced-down tube and a CNC machined head tube, 6.3-inch mechanical disc brakes, Shimano HG40 eight speed gears and resin platform pedals. With five different sizes of the Talus available, ranging from a seat tube length of 14 to 22 inches, consumers have an option for a more custom fit. Rack and fender mounts, water bottle holders and a reflector set are also included.

    Youth

    • Raleigh also makes professional bicycles for kids. The Rowdy comes with an aluminum action-curve frame and features Promax V-brakes, Shimano TZ06 six-speed gears, and junior resin platform pedals. The seat tube length is 11.02 inches, the wheelbase measures 34.84 and the handlebar width is 20.47. Extras include a reflector set, chain guard and clear coat.
