Places to Ride Dirt Bikes in Texas

Due to its moderate climate, the state of Texas is able to offer motocross parks that are open year-round, even during the winter. Dirt bike enthusiasts can take advantage of tracks in most of the Texas's major cities, including Houston and Austin. Some of Texas's motocross parks also offer lighting systems, which enables dirt bikers to practice at night. Texas motocross parks host dirt biking events throughout the year.
  1. Village Creek MX

    • Village Creek MX is less than a mile south of Timber View Park in southern Fort Worth. This dirt bike track is open all year and hosts events such the AMA Texas Winter Series and Best of Texas, which occurs in the fall. During the week, Village Creek is open for dirt bikers to practice. The motocross park features three dirt tracks. The 1.8-mile dirt track is open during the day, while the three-quarter-mile track is open at night. The night track has a lighting system. The third track is a 1.25-mile mini-track. Out-of-town dirt bikers who are visiting Village Creek to compete can find lodging at the La Quinta Inn in Fort Worth's Forest Hill neighborhood, approximately 10 minutes from the park.

    Splendora Motorcross Park

    • The Splendora Motocross Park is in Splendora, a northern suburb in the Greater Houston area. This motocross park features five tracks. The main course, the Motocross, has obstacles, including whoops, corners and tabletops; this track is suited for dirt bikes and ATVs. Night dirt biking is available on the 300-foot drag strip, while the UTV track is a quarter-mile, kidney-shaped track that accommodates go karts and trophy trucks. The park's Mudcross track is a 1/8-mile-long track for four-wheel-drive ATVs, and children can ride on the PeeWee Motocross Track. Splendora Motocross Park hosts dirt bike and quad racing events throughout the year. The park is open for practice throughout the year.

    Austin-Del Valle Motocross Park

    • Situated in Austin, Texas, the Austin-Del Valle Motocross Park is in the southeastern region of the city, approximately five minutes from Austin-Bergstrom International Airport. This 200-acre motocross park consists of three tracks: the Motocross, a Veteran/Beginner track and a Junior track for children. All of the tracks have lights for dirt bikers who want to practice at night. The park is open to the public for dirt bike practice on Wednesdays and Sundays throughout the year. Some Saturdays are available as well. Austin-Del Valle offers restroom facilities on the grounds, and snacks are available at the park's front entrance. Overnight dirt bikers can take advantage of the park's campground.
