How to Make Your Own Chamber Safety Flags

Chamber safety flags are used to provide visual reminders that the chamber of a weapon is empty. The safety flags are inserted into the chamber of an empty weapon before the chamber is closed. They can be used on handguns, rifles, paintball guns and Airsoft guns. While chamber safety flags can be purchased commercially, you can also make them at home. A chamber safety flag is never an excuse not to physically check the chamber and ensure a weapon is clear.

      Place one zip tie in your right hand and one in your left hand.

      Insert the pointed end of the zip tie in your left hand into the hole at the end of the one in your right hand. Push it through just until the teeth catch.

      Insert the pointed end of the zip tie in your right hand into the hole at the end of the zip tie in your left hand. Push the end through the hole and slide it until you have made a figure that resembles a large "P."
