The Specifications of a Seadoo GSX

The Sea-Doo GSX is a light, quick two-seat personal watercraft built in the late 1990s with a two-stroke engine. The Sea-Doo line of personal watercraft is built and sold by BRP International, which also builds Evinrude, Can-Am, Rotax, Ski-Doo and Lynx vehicles and products.

  1. GSX Engine

    • The 1997 Sea-Doo GSX has a 130-horsepower, 1000 Series Rotax marine powerplant. The two-stroke, twin cylinder engine has a displacement of 782 cc, a bore and stroke of 3.22 by 2.91 inches and a compression ratio of 6.0-to-1. It uses two Mikuni BN 40-38 carburetors and a variable rate oil injection system.

    GSX Equipment

    • The GSX is equipped with a multi-function information center, an electric variable trim system, a high-performance-tuned pipe and a 15-gallon fuel tank. Specifications also include full deck pads and a digitally encoded theft-deterrent system. The vehicle's dry weight is 501 lbs.

      The watercraft is propelled by the Bombardier Formula water jet pump system, with a bronze-alloy stator vane and trimming nozzle. The Sea-Doo is 106 inches long, 45.6 inches wide and 37 inches high.

    GSX Ltd.

    • The GSX Limited Edition Sea-Doo also has a two-stroke, twin-cylinder Bombardier Rotax engine, but with 951.2 cc displacement, compared to the GSX's 782 cc engine.

      The GSX Ltd. operates with Mikuni BN 46 carburetors, has a dry weight of 523 lbs. and a fuel capacity of 15 gallons.
