1
Place your snowboard in the board vice, base-side up. Inspect the edges and surface of your snowboard for rust, gouges in the base, separated rails, a delaminated tip or tail, and cracks. Soak a rag in base cleaner and scrub off all the dirt and grim that has adhered to the snowboards base. Let the cleaner evaporate for 15 minutes before proceeding.

2
Run a gummy stone up and down the edge of the snowboard until it is smooth, to remove rust and burs. After your snowboard has been prepped with the gummie stone, use the Swix-diamond stone to complete the job by running it up and down the edge of the snowboard at a 90-degree angle. The Swix diamond stone is more course and will finish what the gummie stone started. Keep grinding the edge with the diamond stone until the edge of your snowboard is sharp enough to cut through ice.

3
Run the gummie stone up and down the snowboard a few more times after using the diamond stone to put the finishing touches on your snowboards edge before using the flat file to dull your newly created edge down.

Plug in your iron and give it time to heat up to medium heat. Once your iron is hot enough, drip dots of snowboard wax onto the bottom of your board. Start at one end and evenly distribute the wax dots as you progress towards the other end. Don't linger too long on one area. Excessive heat will damage your snowboard and possibly ruin it. Once the wax has been evenly distributed across the board allow the wax to cool off for 15 to 20 minutes. Use the Swix diamond stone to scrape any excess wax off the sides.

5
Scrape the wax off of your board with the brass brush once the wax has completely cooled. Scrape at a 30° angle to the base of the snowboard for the best results. After you have removed all the wax you can with the brush, repeat the process with a fibrex pad. This is the messiest portion of the process and it is a good idea to wear an apron and have a trash can near by to dump the excess wax once you have swept it up.
