How to Kickflip on a Teck Deck

A Teck Deck is a miniature skateboard that you ride with your fingers. These mini-skateboards give you the ability to skate literally anywhere, and though it is not the same as riding a full-sized board with your feet, can be a lot of fun. However, because the miniature boards are very light and fickle, they can be difficult to learn tricks on. But keep at it and before you know it you can be kickflipping like a pro does on his feet--with your hands.

Instructions

Set your fingers in place on the Teck Deck. Your middle finger should sit on the tail of the deck, with your index finger near the front truck bolts.

    • 2

Pull the Teck Deck backward under your fingers. In one quick motion, push down on the tail of the board, lift your hand, and slide your index finger up to the nose to balance the board in the air. If all goes well, the board should "jump" under your fingers. You just performed an ollie. Practice this basic trick before moving on to the kickflip, which is a variation of the ollie.

Begin your kickflip the same way you do an ollie--pull the board backward, "kick" the tail down with your middle finger and slide your index finger forward to level the board. But this time, when sliding your index finger up the board, slide it all the way off and to the side. This will cause the board to spin in mid-air. When the board has completed one full spin, stop it by slamming your fingers back down on top of it, effectively stopping the board and bringing it to the ground.

Practice this maneuver repeatedly until you can perform kickflips routinely.
