Advanced Scooter Tricks

Many individuals have gotten interested in performing different types of scooter tricks. Nonetheless, before a person can do advanced scooter tricks, it's important to know some of the basic moves. For instance, the person should first learn how to do the "Ollie" before performing harder stunts. To perform more advanced scooter tricks, there should be constant practice. It's also important to use the right scooter, in doing the Ollie, a kick scooter should be used.
  1. 180

    • Before doing the 180-degree trick, it's important for the rider to find a good place to scooter. Make sure that there aren't as many obstacles or things that can distract you. Next is to achieve a good speed. In doing the 180, the pace of the scooter should be not too slow or too fast. Once there's a good pace, try to do Ollie. Bend the knees and try to jump very high. This time when the scooter leaves the ground, the shoulders should twist over to the left or to the right before switching to the other direction. It's important to keep a tight grip on the handlebars while twisting. At first, it would be impossible to do a complete 180. The biker will probably just be able to do a quarter of the full twist. Constant practice is required to help the body get accustomed to the stunt. After a couple of times, the 180 turn will come naturally. In some cases, riders may go as far as a 360-degree turn. Upon landing, the body should relax just like when landing in doing a normal Ollie.

    Bunny Hop

    • In bunny hop, the rider hops forwards while maintaining his balance. To do the bunny hop, both feet should be positioned at the rear of the scooter. The body's weight should be on the rear wheel while the right foot should be placed on the brakes. While gripping the handlebars try to position them to make a 45-degree angle. Jump and make sure the scooter also jumps . The scooter should land using its rear wheel. Once the rider has mastered moving forward, learning to move backwards may follow.

    Tail Whip

    • In doing the tail whip, the rider should be up in the air for a longer time while doing the Ollie. The basics remain the same for doing a tail whip: ride at a good speed and do an Ollie. The only difference is after doing the Ollie the base or deck of the scooter should be kicked around before landing. The foot's back should be positioned on the base of the scooter while the other half on the ground. Specifically, the foot's front should be positioned on the base. This trick is considered one of the hardest tricks in riding a scooter.
