Razor Pro Scooter Tricks

Ollie
-
The Ollie is one of the most basic scootering tricks. Skateboarders will recognize this trick. The Skateboarding Ollie concept is the same as the Scootering Ollie, sans the handlebars. To learn this trick, a beginning scooterer will start stationary and advance to a moving scooter with practice. The trick is performed starting with one foot positioned to the back of the scooter deck and the other foot slightly angled forward near the head. The heel of the back foot is raised with the weight centered on the toes and ball of the foot. The back foot quickly pushes off for a jump and the scooterer will jump up leading with the back foot. The back goes up first, followed by the front as the handlebars are pulled up. The trick finishes with the legs bent and the arms relaxed in order to get as much height as possible.
Manual
-
The Manual is simply another word for wheelie. This trick is performed by rolling at a medium pace, moving one foot to the back of the board. The handlebars will be lifted as the back foot pushes downward and the front foot lifts in order to bring the front wheel of the scooter off of the ground as it rolls.
Ollie Manual
-
The Ollie Manual is a more advanced trick based off of the Ollie. It combines the Ollie and the Manual. The scooterer will perform the basic Ollie while moving and then land on only the back wheel performing a wheelie. Leaning forward on the handlebars and raising the handlebars as far off of the ground as possible will allow the scooterer to perform the trick well and look good doing it.
Bunny Hop
-
The Bunny Hop is similar to the Ollie but with a slight difference in the jumping technique. With the Ollie, the scooterer will jump with the back foot leading to the front. With the Bunny Hop, the jump is both feet at once. To perform the trick, the scooterer will start moving at a medium speed and then jump up while pulling up on the handlebars, keeping the deck of the board placed firmly against the bottom of the feet. The goal is to perform the trick and land straight without having to bail out. A bailout is stepping away or leaping away from the scooter in order to avoid a fall.
X-Up or Bar Spin
-
This trick is performed while doing the Manual. Spin the bars 180 degrees as the front wheel comes off the ground.
Tail Whip
-
The Tail Whip is an advanced scootering trick that should be attempted after mastering the basics. A funbox is typically used to perform the trick, but is not necessary. In order to perform this trick, the scooterer must get up to a moderately high speed. Place the back foot so that the toe hangs off of the deck. Perform a high Bunny Hop and then, while in the air, kick the deck so that it spins around the bar. Catch the board with the feet as it lands and roll away clean. There are plenty of video demonstrations of this trick on the World News website.
