How to Send Artwork to a Skateboard Company

Whether you want to get into the skateboard design industry or just want some professional feedback on your concept art for skateboards, sending samples of your artwork to a professional skateboard company can build connections. Custom artwork for skateboards can reflect who you are as an artist and what you stand for.

Instructions

    • 1

Polish your portfolio. If you have any unfinished concepts that you feel will show your talents and vision, work on completing them before you send out your work to a skateboarding company. Sending in unfinished work will reflect poorly on your professionalism and dedication as an artist.

    • 2

Select eight to 10 pieces of your best skateboarding art concepts from your portfolio. Choose a variety of pieces to show the artists at the skateboarding company that you have range, but do not lose sight of your own artistic visions. Choose pieces that present a powerful statement about your artistic personality.

    • 3

Choose which format to use--digital or paper. Both methods have advantages and disadvantages. If you send your work in via mail, the pages can become damaged due to mishandling. If you send your work digitally, the artists reviewing your work might not be able to view the pieces in full size, thus missing the finer details of your work.

Send your work in the medium you have selected, in paper or digital form. If you are mailing your selected portfolio, include a line on the envelope addressing it to the attention of the skateboarding company's creative director, if this information is readily available on the company's website. If you are emailing files of your digitized artwork, send the email to the creative director with the files as attachments.
