How to Get a Skate Sponsor
Instructions
-
-
1
Skate everyday. Practice skating and learning new moves and tricks using various platforms, outdoor items and skate parks (if available in your location). Becoming a pro skateboarder will take years of practice, commitment and dedication to learning and mastering the craft.
-
2
Visit various cities with different skate parks to test your skills in new locations and with other skaters.
-
3
Observe other skaters around you, including competition--to take notice of their own moves and tricks as well as how they complete each one.
-
4
Create new skateboarding tricks by getting creative and pushing limits and boundaries in the skateboarding world.
-
5
Tape a skating demo reel of your tricks, highlights and any competitions you have won to submit or demonstrate during pitching presentations for sponsorships. Create a website or online portfolio to easily show off your talent and skills to potential marketers and sponsors anywhere in the world. Send your demo reels to potential skate sponsors (including skate gear brands, skateboarding companies and sports-related product brands).
-
6
Find skate sponsors by attending skateboarding competitions and events locally and nationally by traveling to various events. Different events allow for skateboarders to register, giving you a chance to show your talent to potential sponsors and investors.
-
7
Use online sponsorship resources to search for skate sponsors by visiting well-known sponsor websites such as Sponsor Space, Find a Sponsor and Sponsor Pitch. These sponsorship communities give you opportunities to showcase your talents and skills while reaching out to various companies and skate sponsors directly.
