How to Land a Bull Flip

The Bull Flip is an advanced flip trick that requires previous knowledge of the gazelle, Backside nollie, and nerd flip. The Bull Flip integrates these three tricks into one seamless rotation. The result is an acrobatic visual that has the skateboarder spinning in the air with the board while it flips beneath his feet.

Begin the trick by performing a backside nollie shove-it. For regular footed skaters, their left foot is on the back-end nose of the skateboard and their right foot is in the middle. For goofy skaters, it is the exact opposite. A backside nollie is performed like a regular nollie with the opposite foot performing the initial pop-up. As the nose of the board rises towards your body, push the back-end of the board out of your foot. This will start the board rotation.

Link the nerd-flip to the backside shove-it. Dip your back foot below the board when it is suspended. When the board is on its way to straightening, lift your back foot up in a flick motion, causing the board to kickflip. The board should flip from top to bottom, and then back to the top again.

Spin your body 360 degrees in the direction the board is spinning. Keep your eye on the board as you spin.

Let the board complete two 360 degree rotations before touching it with your feet. You want to press your feet on the board in mid-air and pull it with you to complete your 360 degree rotation. The combination of the 720 degree spin of the board and the 360 degree spin of your body is known as a 720 gazelle.

Land with the board facing parallel to the direction you were headed when you began the trick.
