How to Customize Skateboarding Shoes

Go to the website of a skateboarding shoe company that offers customization. On the Etnies website, click on "Design your own" in the "Shop" tab. On the Vans site, click on "Custom Shoes" in the "Shop" tab.

Choose a basic style for your shoe. Vans offers the Era, 106, Slip On, or Old Skool styles, while Etnies offers the Jameson, Fader, or Callicut style. Each design is unique, so browse through the various options to find the style you like.

Select your gender and age group. If you are on the Vans website, also select your shoe size.

Choose the colors and patterns you want for each part of the shoe. On the Etnies website, you can choose the coloring for the upper, toe cap, side panel, side wall, sidewall stripe, laces, eyelets, inner lining, tongue, tongue logo, footbed logo, and heel logo. On the Vans website, you can choose the colors of the tongue binding, collar binding, heel counter, quarter, eyelet, laces, collar lining, foxing, foxing stripe, and heel tab.

If you are on the Etnies website, select your shoe size. Add an extra level of customization by choosing the optional feature to name your shoe design.
