How do I Build Fun Boxes for Skateboard Stuff?

The fun box remains a popular obstacle found in skateboard and BMX parks across the country. The fun box can have various lengths and widths, but the rectangular prism shape stays the same. Builders equip the edges of the fun box with metal rails and angle iron to allow skaters to grind and slide across it. Skaters lock the two trucks on the bottom of the skateboard onto the metal edge of the fun box.

Things You'll Need

  • 10 cinder blocks
  • construction grade adhesive
  • 2 pieces of 2-by-2-by-1/4 inch angle iron, 5 feet long

Instructions

      Carry the cinder blocks, two pieces of angle iron and the tube of construction grade adhesive to the fun box building area. Lay four of the cinder blocks on the ground with a flat rectangular side facing up.

      Squeeze the construction grade adhesive onto the tops of the four cinder blocks. Flip one of the cinder blocks over and stick the adhesive to the ground. Flip over the second cinder block and place it against the first one by touching the square shaped sides.

      Turn over the third cinder block and press it against the second. Place the adhesive side of the fourth cinder block on the ground with it pressed up against the third block.

      Apply the construction grade adhesive to the top of the four adjacent cinder blocks which have been stuck to the ground. Lay the remaining four cinder blocks on top of the first four to create an identical top row.

      Squeeze the adhesive along the inside of the two pieces of angle iron. Press one piece of angle iron onto each edge on the top row of cinder blocks. Lay one cinder block on top of each piece of angle iron near the middle. Wait for the adhesive to dry before removing the two cinder blocks.
