How to Create a Custom Skateboard Decks

Pro skaters such as Tony Hawk, Jean Postec and Bam Margera skate around on their own unique skateboards. The uniqueness comes from custom decks, which are the wooden part of the skateboard that is ridden on. Create your own skateboard deck by using a website to arrange your own designs on a pre-made body. Your skateboard deck can include images from your favorite artists and bands or be custom graphics that you have designed on your own.

      Find pictures online that you want to use for your custom skateboard deck. You can also upload photos from a digital camera, scan them into your computer or create them in a drawing program. Save the pictures onto your computer's desktop in a JPEG, GIF, or PNG file.

      Go to a custom skateboard deck website such as Board Pusher, Zazzle, or Custom Skateboard Deck. Choose “Design a Deck” from the main page.

      Choose the deck you wish to customize. Decks are available in different lengths, widths and shapes. Visit a skate shop and try different decks to know which you feel most comfortable on.

      Select “Upload Image” and choose the saved image from your computer. The image will be placed on the bottom of your deck.

      Click and drag the image to move it around the deck. Click and drag the corners of the image to make it bigger or smaller.

      Upload additional images and arrange them on the deck.

      Click “Add Text” to create a text box on the deck. Write in any words or letters you want to appear on the deck. Change the font, size and color of the text for your deck.

      Choose “Add to Cart” to order the deck.
