  1. How to Create Your Own Skateboard Deck

      Purchase between seven and nine maple sheets. Together, you will want these sheets to measure about 15 cmin height.

      Glue the sheets together with a good wood glue and let dry for a few hours.

      Cut the boards to the length and width you wish the board to be. Keep in mind that most boards are 29" to 33" in length and 7.5" to 8.5" in width.

      Borrow a friend's board or freehand the curves of your deck on the wood.

      Cut the deck along the lines and use your sandpaper to smooth out the rough edges.

      Paint the board with a primer. Then put on your color coat.

      Add graphics to your deck by either drawing them in by hand or printing them out on a computer.
