      Check to make sure your trucks are not rusty. If they are, replace them. Trucks are not designed differently for speed, so it’s just important to have well working trucks.

      Change bearings to a higher ABEC. The higher the number, the better speed you can expect.

      Replace wheels with larger wheels, at least 52 mm. Smaller wheels are more susceptible to interference such as rocks, while larger wheels allow for more speed.

      Make sure the nuts on the wheels are not too tight. If the wheels do not easily spin, they are too tight. Loosen so that the wheels can easily spin several times around before coming to a stop.

      Continue to work on your speed. It takes time, but you can improve your speed by working on your leg strength.
