Kona Skate Park was the first privately founded skate park dedicated solely to skateboarding. The park is open seven days a week with varying hours. Buy an annual membership for $79 or pay per visit, depending on the day specials are running. Take skateboarding lessons at Kona or attend one of their summer camps. Enjoy special skating nights such as Ladies Night, Old School and College Night. Kona requires a helmet with chin strap and recommends use of elbow pads, knee pads and wrist guards. Buy or rent on-site these safety items.

An all-concrete skate park in Jacksonville, this park is reputed to be fast and for experienced skateboard park skaters. If you have small children who skate or you are just getting into skateboarding, use caution. This park easily gets crowded.?

An indoor skate park in Atlantic Beach, Skatelab is open during summer and weekends (3 p.m. opening Monday through Friday when school is in session) and stays open until 8 p.m. except Sunday (close at 6 p.m.). Skatelab offers day passes, monthly passes ($50 plus membership) and an annual pass for $300 (that requires a membership fee of $35). An all-day pass is $6 for members and $11 for non-members. Attend their summer camp, take lessons at Skatelab or enter one of their contests.
