How to Find the Right Size Skateboard Trucks
Instructions

-
1
Measure the width of your skateboard with a tape measure to help choose the appropriate truck width. The truck axle width you select should come within an inch of the deck width. For example, a 9- to 10-inch deck width will work best with a truck axle width of 9 inches.
-
2
Choose your truck height based on the type of skateboard riding you prefer. Low truck profiles are best when performing ground tricks and are best suited for wheels with a 50 to 55 mm diameter.
-
3
Choose a standard truck height within 3 inches of the ground for general recreational riding. Choose a higher truck height for faster skateboard riding that incorporates downhill boarding with numerous turns and carving. The higher profile of these trucks allow for steeper bends, and are best used with wheels 56 mm or larger.
-
4
Consult a truck sizing chart--available where skateboard supplies are sold--to help choose the right trucks for you. The chart cross-references your riding style with your deck width to help you select the best trucks for your board.
