How to Create Your Custom Skate Shoes Online

Etnies is a very popular shoe brand among skateboarders and others who love extreme sports. If you like the look of etnies but don't want to wear the same shoe as everyone else, you have an option. Make your own custom pair of etnies, choose every color and design detail, and you'll truly have a pair of skate shoes that are your own design taste.

Instructions

      Log onto the etnies design studio at etnies.com/shop/custom/. You will be presented with your choices for the basic shoe shape. Choose between four men's styles, four styles for girls or women and two kid styles.

      Place your cursor over the pair of shoes that you like. A pop-up will appear giving you the choice of customizing the already made shoe that you see or starting from scratch. Click on the "start from scratch" button. You will be taken to the actual design studio page with a plain white version of your shoe.

      Notice that there is a box on the right side of the page with many design choices. Click on the first choice in your shoe design, which is for the side panel of the shoe in most styles. A box will pop up with the available colors for this part of the shoe. Click on the one that you like. If you're not sure, click on another one. The picture of your shoe in the center of the page will change according to your choices.

      Click on the next selection to decorate the next portion of your shoe. Continue on in this manner until you have finished designing your shoe exactly how you like.

      Click on the "name your shoes" tab. You are given the option to have a name embroidered in small block letters on the body of the shoe near the heel. You are only allowed seven letters or spaces, but you can choose from a variety of colors. Type a name in the text box and choose a color. Click on the size choice pop-up to pick your shoe size.

      Click on the "buy your shoes" tab to finish your order. Write down the custom shoe ID number from this page. Click on the "add to cart" button to finalize your purchase. If this is the only pair of shoes that you will make, go to the checkout and fill in your credit card and shipping information.

      Print out and save the confirmation page as a reference for your purchase. Your shoes will arrive in six to eight weeks.
