How to Unbend Skateboard Trucks

Skateboard trucks are the metal axles that attach the wheels to the deck. Trucks bend and flex, allowing the rider to turn. Trucks need to be straight in order to function properly.

Instructions

  1. Unbend the Truck

    • 1

      Place the truck into a table vice. Open the vice until it's wide enough to fit the hanger--the round, metal axle portion of the truck--into it. Place the unbent portion of the plate in the vice and tighten it until the hanger will not move.

      Take the vice grip and open it wide enough to place the hanger inside once it's clamped down. Clamp the vice grip onto the portion of the hanger that's bent. Clamp the vice grip shut. Use the vice grip to apply pressure to the hanger until it straightens out.

      Open up the vice grip and release the truck. Replace the truck on your skateboard and make sure it rides well.
