How to Clean a Treadmill
It is important to keep your treadmill clean to prevent accidents. Built up dust can cause the belt to stick and make the levels adjust on their own. Here are some easy tips to help you keep your machine clean and safe.
Things You'll Need
- Vacuum
- Cotton rag or cloth
- Cotton swab
- Water
- Non-phosphate cleanser
Instructions
-
-
1
Unplug the machine.
-
2
Vacuum around the area and the actual treadmill with the hose attachment. Concentrate around the belt to remove the dust.
-
3
Use a damp, cotton cloth to wipe down the surface. You can use a mild mixture of phosphate cleanser and water for the parts that are touched (such as the operator's board and handles).
-
4
Dust between the deck and belt. Get as much dust off of the machine as you can.
-
5
Use a cotton swab to reach places the vacuum and cloth cannot.
