Instructions

-
1
Step on the Arc Trainer. Place your foot on the lower pedal first. The pedals will move, so use caution.
-
2
Begin to pedal. Pedal forward, similar to a cycling motion, but you will be standing on the pedals. Some Arc Trainers are energy efficient and do not plug into an outlet. If this is the case, you will need to pedal for approximately 3 to 5 seconds to get the screen to light up.
-
3
Press "Quick Start" on the console to take you into manual mode, putting you in control of your workout. You control the incline, using the up and down arrows on the left. The resistance is controlled using the arrows on the right side of the console.
-
4
Choose a program. If you are looking for a more advanced workout, the Arc Trainer offers 13 preset programs which will create hills, valleys, and change resistance for you. To use one of these programs, press the appropriate button instead of pressing "Quick Start".
-
5
Enter the information asked for within your program. Depending on which program you select, you may be asked to enter your age, weight, heart rate or time-related goal. You can enter this information by using the up and down arrow buttons to the right of the display. When you have entered the correct information, press "Enter". Your information will allow the Arc Trainer to display accurate calorie burn and heart rate readouts, allowing you to get the maximum benefit from your workout.
