How to Fix a Gazelle Freestyle

The Gazelle Freestyle is a compact, in-home glider machine by Fitness Quest. A small A-frame made of 2 1/4-inch, heavy-gauge steel supports two swing arms and 2-foot platforms, which attach to the frame with cables. Glide your feet back and forth for a low-impact, cardiovascular workout. The Gazelle Freestyle does not have a motor or drive belt like a treadmill or elliptical machine; fewer mechanical parts means fewer and less complicated repairs.

Instructions

  1. Gazelle Makes Squeaking Noises

    • 1

Stand in front of your Gazelle Freestyle and face the machine.

    • 2

Locate where the each of the swing arms attaches to the horizontal handlebar. Take a small amount of petroleum jelly and apply it to these areas.

    • 3

Kneel down in front of your Gazelle.

    • 4

Locate where the swing arms attach to the foot platforms. Apply a small amount of petroleum jelly to these areas.

    • 5

Spray each of the four cable holders with water-displacing spray. The cable holders attach the back of the foot platforms to the Gazelle frame. Two cable holders are located on the back of the foot platforms and two are located at the top of the frame.

    Foot Platforms Are Loose

    • 6

Kneel behind the Gazelle machine, facing the foot platforms.

    • 7

Grab one platform and pull it toward you so you can see the bottom of it. Tighten the screws on the bottom of the platform with a screwdriver.

    • 8

Repeat for the other foot platform.
