Lay one wood board on the ground and stand the wood post in the middle of it.

Lay one of the L-shaped metal fasteners against the side of the post and the wood board. Screw the metal fastener into the post and wood board with the wood screws. Attach the three other metal fasteners to the remaining three sides of the post and the wood board. This is the base of the squat stand.

Place the 11-inch-long wood piece against the upper part of the post. There should be about six inches of wood above the top of the post and five inches of wood flush against the post itself. Use four wood screws to attach the 5-inch piece to the post. This is the rear restraint for the stand.
