Preparation

1
Find a suitable exercise area. The Kendra Sports Pole should be installed in an area that allows you to completely extend your arms without hitting anything else in the room. Measure a diameter of approximately 120 to 138-inches to use as your dance area.
-
2
Locate a ceiling joist (ceiling beam) to secure the pole against. The Kendra Sports Pole cannot be installed against suspended, false or non-ridged ceilings. Joists typically run at a 90 degree angle to the floorboards and will span between two side-by-side rooms. Find the joist by tapping the wall or with a stud finder.
-
3
Mark the ceiling where you will be installing the top support plate. The pole must be installed in the center of the ceiling joist. Measure the height from the floor to the ceiling in the area in which you will install the pole. If needed, attach an extension onto the pole to meet the height requirement. The Kendra Sports Pole can be used on ceilings up to 120-inches.
Assembly
-
4
Insert the A-Pole into the top support plate. Line up the rounded slots that appear on the end of the pole tube and the top support plate. Push the pole into the support plate until it becomes tight.
-
5
Attach the X-Joint to the open end of Pole-A. Connect Pole-B to the opposite end of the X-Joint. Line up the circular markings on the tubes. Insert a Hex Key through the holes and into an expansion screw. Turn the key clockwise to tighten.
-
6
Insert the foam padding over the X-Joint. This is done for safety purposes. Place the bottom support plate on the floor parallel to the top support plate.
Installation
-
7
Pick up the assembled Kendra Sports Pole so that it is standing vertically. It is mandatory that two people install the pole as one will be needed to adjust the bottom and one will need to lift the pole into position.
-
8
Adjust the pole into the bottom support plate located on the floor. Rotate the pole in a clockwise motion to tighten the pole in the base. Have one person hold the base in position as the top person turns the top pole in a counter-clockwise motion until it touches the ceiling.
-
9
Tighten the pole with the tightening rod through the adjuster once the pole is secured in its proper place. While one person holds the pole in place, the second person should slowly unwind the adjuster in a clockwise motion to increase the pressure between the ceiling and floor.
