How to Adjust Valeo Deluxe Speed Ropes

When using a speed jump rope, it's important to cut it to the correct size to avoid injury and make it easier to use. Valeo Deluxe Speed Ropes come with a metal clamp that is tightened to adjust the length of the jump rope. This process can only be done one time, so measure accurately before crimping and cutting. The handles of your jump rope should reach your underarms while you stand on the rope.

Instructions

    • 1

Stand with the jump rope under your feet and pull the handles up to your armpits. Mark the rope where it reaches them. Any rope extending beyond your underarms should be cut off with scissors.

    • 2

Pry the black plastic cap off the end of either handle using a flat head screwdriver.

    • 3

Push the rope through the hole in the handle until you see a metal piece on the rope. Slide the metal piece down the rope as you pull it through the handle to your desired length.

    • 4

Crimp the metal piece tight with pliers. This will make it stay in place at the selected length.

    • 5

Feed the jump rope back into the handle until it catches on the metal piece.

    • 6

Trim any rope that is still coming out of the handle and replace the plastic cap.
