Directions for Ab Lounge

The Ab Lounge is an exercise chair meant to tone and strengthen the abdominal muscles. The product can be packed away into a small space and is portable. The contraption weighs 37 lbs. and can be purchased in most fitness shops or online. Fitness attire should be worn when using the equipment to make the process easier.

Instructions

      Perform light exercises to warm up your muscles. These exercises should not exert any strain on your body. The goal is to increase your heart rate. Some apprpriate light exercises would be jogging in place or performing jumping jacks or squats.

      Sit in the Ab Lounge as you would a chair. Grab the handle above your head and place your feet on the foot pedals. Scrunch your body together so your head meets with your knees and then stretch your body so your head moves away from your knees. This movement is called the "basic jackknife."

      Follow the instructions for Step 2, but place your legs out past the foot pegs so they are fully extended. Continue to do crunches in the same fashion. This is called the "extended legs jackknife."

      Follow the instructions for Step 2, but extend your arms fully through the arm handles with your fingers outstretched and your legs on the pegs. Continue to do the exercise in this fashion. This is called the "extended arms jackknife."
