Instructions for a Danskin Toning Ball

A Danskin Toning Ball is a soft-shelled medicine ball, a versatile piece of workout equipment designed to be used at home. The Danskin Toning Ball is available in 6-, 8- or 10-pound sizes. Unlike a medicine ball with a hard cover, the Danskin Toning Ball can be thrown during certain exercises without the risk of injuring other people. Medicine balls can be used to effectively exercise the abdomen, back, glutes and arms.

      Perform reverse curls. Lie on your back in the sit-up position with your hands flat on the floor next to you. Grasp the toning ball with your knees. While keeping your knees bent at a 90-degree angle, lift your knees toward your torso. Return to the starting position and repeat.

      Stand with your feet shoulder-width apart to set up for squats. Hold the toning ball in both hands while your arms are extended in front of your chest. Lower yourself until your knees are positioned over your toes, then stand up and return to start position and repeat.

      Set yourself up for lunges in a similar fashion to your squat setup. Stand with feet shoulder-width apart while holding the toning ball in front of your chest. Take a step back with your left foot. From this position, lower your body by bending your knees until your front thigh is parallel to the floor. As you lower your body, reach with the toning ball to one side of your body. Return to the start position and perform the same movement with your right leg, reaching to the opposite side with toning ball.

      Perform push-ups by getting into the push-up position with the toning ball under one hand. Do a push-up, then switch arms and repeat.

      Work your core and shoulders with figure eights. Stand with your feet shoulder-width apart. Grasp the toning ball with both hands and trace a figure eight through the air with the ball in one continuous motion.
