Instructions for Youth T-Ball

T-ball is similar to baseball and softball but without a pitcher and a catcher. This allows young players to hit the ball without fear of getting hit by a pitch. The game is played by boys and girls between four to eight years of age. To do this you need to first organize two teams with a minimum of 12 boys and girls on each team. You will then need to find a place to play the game.

Instructions

  1. Set Up the Field

    • 1

Go to a local little league baseball diamond. You will require a diamond that has 50 feet in-between the bases for t-ball.

    • 2

Locate the studs for first, second and third base. Set bases on the studs, if necessary.

    • 3

Position the first team of kids on the field. The infield will need four players and the outfield will need three to four.

    • 4

Place the batting tee directly on home plate. Set the baseball or softball on top of the tee.

    Playing the Game

    • 5

Stand the first batter to the side of the base and hand them the bat. Allow the batter to swing at the ball on the batting tee until it is hit.

    • 6

Instruct the batter to run to first base after they have hit the ball. Instruct the players in the field to stop the ball and to throw it to first base.

    • 7

Repeat this process until all of the batters have hit the ball. The inning is over once all of the batters on the team have hit the ball.
