Joseph H. Pilates founded the Pilates exercise method. While working with immobilized patients during WWI, he developed a series of exercises that strengthened the core through a machine, the Reformer, and matwork.

You will begin to feel stronger in the first week of doing Pilates. Results will be visible in the first month. You will need to stick to the program for the long term. Joseph Pilates designed several different exercises, so the workout is never the same and the participant never becomes bored with Pilates.

The core of the Reformer remains the same regardless of what type you purchase. Reformers may be made of wood or metal. They will have either leather straps or ropes. They may be raised or sit on the floor.
