How to Glue Running Shoes
Unfortunately, rips and tears can happen to even the most careful runner's shoes. Repairing an unsightly or unwieldy tear in your running shoes is a quick fix. Correctly applying glue to the broken shoe will mend it so you don't have to spend another small fortune for a new pair of high-quality running shoes. Once the glue dries, your running shoes will be ready for your daily exercise routine.
Things You'll Need
- Glue appropriate for application to rubber, fabric, and plastic
Instructions
-
-
1
Apply glue to both surfaces of the ripped section of the shoe.
-
2
Hold the sections together in the position in which you wish the tear to set.
-
3
Hold the torn lips together in the position you desire for 10 minutes, to let the glue take hold.
-
4
Tug slightly at the tear to see whether the glue has taken hold. If the rip opens after a slight tug, repeat the treatment with another application of glue to the rip.
-
5
Allow the shoe to set and dry for a day before you use it. If you put the shoes under pressure before the glue sets completely, the rip may not stay properly mended.
