Instructions

    • 1

Before setting out for your run, put both hands behind your head and take a few deep breaths. For each exhale, try to compress as much air out of your lungs as you can. This will help clear any stale air.

    • 2

Keep your back straight when running so that your lung capacity isn’t compromised.

    • 3

Begin slowly by jogging. Breathe in through your nose for two steps then breathe out of your mouth for two steps. You can count in your head to pace yourself.

    • 4

Keep this slow steady pace for a couple minutes until you feel comfortable.

    • 5

Increase your jogging speed to a quicker running speed that is challenging yet comfortable for your body. Breathe through your nose for four steps then breathe out of your mouth for four steps.
