Instructions

Clean your face with mild soap and cool water. Pat your face dry with a clean towel. Cleaning your face before participating in a strenuous activity helps eliminate makeup and dirt, which can clog your pores during a workout.

    • 2

Pin back your hair with a bobby pin or hair clip. Pull your bangs or front hair to the side or back and pin it securely. This keeps the hair out of your eyes and also prevents sweat from dripping from the hair into your eyes. Put longer hair back in a ponytail. Pull your hair away from your face and secure it at the back of your head with a hair elastic.

Place a dime-sized amount of petroleum jelly on your finger. Smear the petroleum jelly across the top of your brow. Smear the jelly from one end of the brow to the other. The petroleum jelly blocks the sweat from dripping down into your eyes by creating a barrier and redirecting the sweat to the sides of your face. For lip balm, open the tube and run it across your brow.

Place a moisture-wicking headband on your head. Position the headband slightly above where you smeared the petroleum jelly. This gives you added protection from sweat. Moisture-wicking material helps keep the skin cool and dry more than a cotton headband.
