Instructions for Using the Go Walking by Sportline

Sportline's Go Walking pedometer is a device used to track your progress as you work out. It is often used in fitness training for both walkers and joggers. The Go Walking not only counts your steps, it also has a built-in clock and estimates the number of calories you've burned and the distance you've walked as well. Its built-in sensitivity adjuster automatically adjusts to your own walking style. Operation is simple, but you'll need to input some information in order for it to read accurately.

Instructions

    • 1

Remove the battery saver tab from the back of your pedometer and the covering from the LCD display.

    • 2

Press the mode button until the distance mode (KM/H or MIL/H) shows on the display and select the setting you wish to use. Hold the reset button for five seconds to change the measurement displayed. This also changes stride length (inches/centimeters) and weight (pounds/kilograms) accordingly.

    • 3

Walk 10 steps, marking where you start and end.

    • 4

Measure the distance covered by counting first in heel-to-toe measurements and then with a measuring tape. Divide the distance on the tape by the number of heel-to-toe steps to determine your stride length. (A distance of 360 inches and 12 heel-to-toe steps would mean a stride length of 30 inches.)

    • 5

Press the mode button until the step mode displays. Hold the mode button for two seconds to get the stride length setting (or mile) mode.

    • 6

Press the reset button to increase stride length (inches or centimeters) and press the arrow down button to the right to decrease.

    • 7

Wait for the screen to blink and go back to mile mode after you've input your stride length, indicating the information is saved.

    • 8

Press the mode button until the calorie (CAL) mode is displayed. Hold the mode button down for two seconds and the weight setting mode will display.

    • 9

Input your weight. The default setting is 100 pounds. Press the reset button to increase and the arrow down button to decrease by increments of 10 pounds.

    • 10

Wait for the screen to blink. After seven seconds it will go back to calorie mode, indicating that your weight is saved.

    • 11

Press the mode button until the display shows the clock mode and hold the mode button for two seconds. Press the reset button to set the hour and the arrow down button to set the minutes.

    • 12

Press the mode button until the display screen shows step mode again. The display should show zeroes in the upper (step window) and lower (distance window) windows. If it does not, hold down the reset button for two seconds.

    • 13

Clip your pedometer to the top of your pants as close as possible to the crease line. Keep it closed and in a horizontal position parallel to the ground. The Go Walking pedometer is ready to track your workout.
