Fun Water Aerobics That Involve Music
-
Shallow Water Moves
-
Aerobics classes conducted in the shallow end of a pool (three to four feet of water) can make good use of upbeat dance music by setting exercises to the beats of a selection of songs. Because participants can touch the pool floor, moves are incorporated that not only provide cardiorespiratory moves such as jumps and steps but stretching moves as well. With the low-impact nature of the exercise, water aerobics may allow people to dance who otherwise could not due to joint issues.
Deep Water Moves
-
Water aerobics classes held in the deep end of the pool can also be set to music. Because participants cannot touch the bottom of the pool with their feet, slower songs may be used to coordinate swim movements that replicate cardiovascular exercises, such as cross-country skiing.
New Parent Classes
-
Just as water aerobics can be a great way for pregnant women to enjoy low-impact exercise that relieves stress on joints and feels good, water aerobics classes set to fun, familiar nursery rhyme tunes can give new parents a fun way to interact with their infants and other new parents. Classes using classical tunes stimulate babies' brain development and introduce them to water in a safe and comfortable way.
Strenuous Classes
-
Music is a great way to keep participants' energy output up during more strenuous water aerobics classes, such as aquatic kick boxing or circuit training classes that involve aerobic segments and resistance training segments. A fast-paced selection of high-energy songs can help participants give their maximum effort throughout the entire class, which will enable them to get the most benefit possible from the routine.
