Kung Fu Martial Arts Schools

"Kung fu" is a Chinese term that refers to mastering any learned skill. In the United States, the term is frequently used to refer to Chinese martial arts. Kung fu includes a variety of styles. The school offers training in Hatha yoga and street self defense in addition to Chinese martial arts.

    Wah Lum Temple

    • The Wah Lum Temple in Orlando, Florida, is run by Pui Chan. The school allows instructors to come and live at the temple to learn the ways of traditional martial arts. However, you don't have to be a martial arts instructor to learn Northern Praying Mantis kung fu at Wah Lum Temple. The school provides martial arts instruction for the general public, including children as young as three years old.

    Chan's Kung Fu School

    • Chan's Kung Fu School offers traditional Chinese martial arts training to the Greater Grand Rapids, Michigan, area. The school provides martial arts training for children in two different age groups and for home-schooled children. Adults can learn Jow Ga and Wing Chun styles in addition to Tai Chi. In addition to traditional kung fu training, students at Chan's Kung Fu School can train in combat sports such as judo and Muay Thai.     Bo Law Kung Fu

    • Bo Law Kung Fu in New York City provides a multi-disciplinary education in kung fu drawing from a variety of styles. The curriculum at Bo Law includes elements of five family, five animal, and tiger-crane kung fu in addition to training in traditional Chinese weapons and two-man sparring. The program begins with a segment called The Essential Kung Fu Workout where students learn the basics of kung fu including stances, punches and kicks. Once students become black belt candidates, they proceed to the school's Black Belt Program, focusing on the deeper theory of Chinese martial arts. The school also has a course for children over the age of 6.
