How to Install a Transducer on a Native Watercraft Ultimate

Installing a sonar system's transducer on Native American Watercraft Ultimate models doesn't require the bedding and gluing required for most boats. Since the transducer's wiring connections are waterproof, you can hang the transducer off the side of the kayak without fear of harm. All you need to do, then, is ensure the transducer is firmly attached to the hull of the boat and connect the wires to the fishfinder. A device called a "transducer deployment arm" will keep the transducer in place and facing downward.

Instructions

    • 1

Wash the Native American Watercraft, paying attention to the front half.

    • 2

Moisten the suction cup inside the upper end of the transducer deployment arm. Push the suction cup into place on the hull, so that the transducer mounting ring is parallel to the top of the boat's side.

    • 3

Push the transducer into the transducer mounting ring and turn it 1/4 turn clockwise. Pull the wires from the transducer up into the boat, and secure them to the transducer. Tie the safety line, permanently attached to the transducer deployment arm, to any solid fixture in the boat.
